A Glimpse into America's Past

I recently read an American History book, "Working Toward Freedom, Slave Society and Economy in the America South", edited by Larry E. Hudson, Jr., and also looking at images of that era.

Based on some of what I read, I wanted to produce a series of charcoal drawings, specifically focused on the early 19th century. Post Civil War Sharecroppers.
